Google Keep: Search via Chrome Omnibox

(you can easily filter previous issues by application!)

Hi friends - Regular viewers will know that I mainly rely on Google Keep to capture two types of information in the workplace: (1) Ideas and (2) Notes.

The reason we use Keep over Docs for capturing information is simple: It’s much faster (i.e. less friction) to start taking notes on Keep vs. Docs.

When it comes to searching for information we’ve captured on Keep, we can decrease the friction even further by searching for notes directly from Chrome’s address bar (or what Google likes to call “the Omnibox” 😶).

Search Keep from Address Bar

  1. First, head on over to the Search Engine settings page within Chrome (chrome://settings/searchEngines)
  2. Under “Site Search” > Add > Input the below within the text fields:
    Name = Keep
    Shortcut = keep
    URL = https://keep.google.com/u/0/#search/text%253D%s
  1. Click “Save”

This allows you to quickly access your Google Keep notes by typing "keep" followed by the TAB key in the address bar!

p.s. In case you missed it here’s how you can chat with Gemini directly from Chrome.
