📸 Google Chrome: Take Full Page Screenshots

🤔 What is it?

  • Easily take a full page screenshot in Google Chrome without using any third-party tools

🤷🏻 When should I use this?

  1. If you’re security and privacy conscious and you don’t want to use a Chrome extension to capture full page screenshots
  2. If you don’t want to pay for screenshot apps like CleanShot X

📸 Instructions

(scroll down for screenshots)

  1. Go to a webpage where you want to take a full page screenshot (let’s use my HBR article as an example 😉)
  2. Press CMD + OPTION + I on a Mac (CTRL + SHIFT + I on Windows)
  3. Don’t panic
  4. With your mouse, find the line of code that highlights the entire page on the left (the page you want to take a screenshot of)
  5. With that line of code selected, press CMD + SHIFT + P on Mac (CTRL + SHIFT + P on Windows)
  6. Type “screenshot” in the run command bar and select “Capture node screenshot”
  7. After 1-2 seconds, your full page screenshot should be downloaded automatically!
