Access Calendar directly from Gmail

Within Gmail, you can click on the Google Calendar icon in the Companion Bar (on the right) to access calendar directly.

If you do this from within an email thread and schedule an event, the event title will be populated with the email subject line automatically!

Bonus Tips (kinda)

In my latest Google Calendar video, I share tips from 3 categories. I’ll leave 1 tip from each here -

  1. For everyone: You can use your mouse and drag across the “small calendar” in the top left for a 3-day, 2-day, or even 1-day view
  2. Free browser extension: Button for Google Calendar. Super minimalist and helpful
  3. Google Workspace users only: You can now “RSVP” with a location when someone sends you a meeting invite (letting them know whether you’re joining from a meeting room or virtually)

⌨️ Keyboard shortcut

  • Within Google Calendar, pressing “X” will bring you to a 4-day view (my personal favorite)
