💨 Remove Text Formatting in Gmail

🤔 What is it?

  • Within Gmail, the button that has the “T” with the slash through it is actually a useful formatting tool: it clears any and all text formatting

🤷🏻 When should I use this?

  1. We often copy and paste text from a website, a doc, or another email when we’re composing within Gmail; having the same format throughout your email makes it less of a jarring experience for the recipient
  2. (Of course, I should point out that another best practice is to simply paste without formatting directly - CMD/CTRL + SHIFT + V - but we sometimes forget 😉)
  3. Highlight the text you want to remove formatting for. Then, click the T button with the slash through it!

📸 Instructions

Highlight text and click the clear formatting button
And now your entire email has the same text formatting!
