Google Keep: Rescue Accidentally Deleted Data

(you can filter previous issues by application!)

I did an oopsie

I’m not proud of admit this but last week I accidentally deleted over 20 contact details I had stored on a Google Keep note:

(as part of my full-time job I send documents like contracts to vendors and suppliers)

Normally, if you delete information from a Google Keep note, you can use CMD/CTRL + Z to undo.

BUT, if you’re a productively impatient person and you click out from the note, you cannot undo your previous action.

How to recover Google Keep Notes

From within the (now empty) note:

  • 3 dots > Version History > Download previous version

After opening the downloaded .html file in your browser, manually copy and paste the information back into the Google Keep note.

Although not ideal, this is much better than losing the information you’ve saved!

💡
Pro tip: If you delete entire note by mistake, you can restore it from the Trash folder

I’m always looking for ways to improve so give me anonymous feedback here 📝
