Google Calendar: Attach Sheets Instantly!

I wanted to share this bonus tip ahead of our regular Friday issue because it's just too good not to share with you all immediately

The dumb* way of adding Google Sheets to Calendar

I’m willing to bet that 99% of you currently add Google Sheets to a Google Calendar event in 1 of 2 ways:

  1. Using the “Attachment” icon
  2. Adding a hyperlink in the description

Connecting Google Sheet to Calendar in 1 step

Here’s a hassle-free way to achieve the same result without having to toggle between Sheets and Calendar:

  1. From within Google Sheets, add a Smart Chip (by using the @ shortcut)
  2. Select the related Calendar event
  3. Hover over the Smart Chip > Attach to Calendar Event

The Google Sheet is now added to the Calendar invitation without you having to go back-and-forth between the two tabs!

*I don’t really mean dumb, because sometimes you still want to add a Google Sheets file from within the Calendar invitation 😏
