You’re probably already very familiar with the “persona” component when it comes to writing prompts.
For example:

Frequent Gemini users will also know we can prompt the AI to assume the role of famous individuals (e.g. assume the role of Barack Obama, Donald Trump, Ricky Gervais, Jeff Su…).
But very few people know this trick we can use to take the Persona component a step further.
Adding context to the persona
Diving right into an example, instead of simply writing:
- Assume the role of Scott Galloway. Your task is to re-write the Google blogpost below in his tone of voice…
We can include more context to receive better output:
- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Galloway_(professor)
Assume the role of Scott Galloway. Re-write the excerpt below using his tone of voice…
Because Google Gemini has real-time access to the internet, sharing the link to the famous individual’s Wikipedia article (or any other link for that matter) will give Gemini even more context and result in a better output!
