Google Docs: Streamline Communication with Colleagues

Working with colleagues in Google Docs

Because you’re a productivity expert, you use the “Email Draft” function I talked about in Productivity Ping #28 to start drafting an important email from within Google Docs:

The email is due to be sent tomorrow and you need to remind your colleagues to finish giving input.

It's a real pain to keep copy-pasting emails from the "Share" menu because it only lets you pick one email at a time:

Instead, follow these steps:

  • File > Email > Email Collaborators > and select who you want to email

Instead of sending the email to everyone, just pick those (unreliable) colleagues who haven't responded yet 😏

⌨️ Keyboard shortcut

  • CMD + SHIFT + C to show Word Count (CTRL + SHIFT + C for Windows users)
