Google Docs: Send with 1-Click

(you can filter previous editions by application!)

The context

In Productivity Ping Edition #28, I showed you how to compose a Gmail draft directly in Google Docs using the “@email draft” prompt:

This is useful when collaborating with different people on a single Google document

Here’s an even lazier way

Within your document:

  • File > Email > Email this file
Literally 3 clicks to send a Google Doc in PDF format

The default option is to include the document as a PDF attachment, but you can choose to include the content within the body of the email itself

Make sure to always include a message

Pros and cons

  1. This method saves you having to download the document as a PDF and attaching it within a new email
  2. On the flip side the recipient receives a very “casual-looking” email so be mindful when using this trick!
This is what the recipient sees

⌨️ Keyboard shortcut

  • CTRL + SHIFT + F to go “fullscreen” in Google Docs

I’m always looking for ways to improve so give me anonymous feedback here 📝
