Gmail: Productivity Boost with Direct Scheduling

(you can filter previous issues by application!)

Active vs. Passive Scheduling

A few weeks ago I showed you how to use Google Calendar’s Appointment Schedule feature to offer times you’re available via Gmail directly.

But what if you’re the “decision-maker” for the meeting time? I.e. There’s no need for you to offer time slots?

If that’s the case, all you need to do is:

  • Hit “r” to reply > 3 dots > Set up a time to meet > Create an event

A new Calendar event will open up in the companion bar with a pre-filled title, and you’re now just 2 clicks away from scheduling a meeting!

Productivity benefits

  1. There’s no need for you open up a separate Google Calendar window to send an invite
  2. The recipient will be able to see the meeting time directly in the email (no need for them to check Google Calendar either)

I’m always looking for ways to improve so give me anonymous feedback here 📝
