Google Docs: 2 Hidden Templates that Save You Time

Hey friends - Since Google Docs introduced Building Blocks back in 2022, they've been quietly expanding their template library to streamline document workflows.
Today let’s go through two templates that deliver immediate value for project documentation!
Project Assets Table
The Project Assets table solves a common project management challenge: scattered documentation. By centralizing all relevant links, files, and URLs in one location, you maintain a single source of truth for your project resources.
Instructions
- Type "@" anywhere in your document
- Search for "Project assets"
- Select the template
Decision Log
For projects involving multiple stakeholders and approval layers (read: bullshit bureaucracy), the Decision Log template provides documentation of who approved what and when.
Instructions
- Type "@"
- Search for "Decision log"
- Select to insert
Pro tip #1
Create a dedicated "Pinned" tab for these templates. This separation achieves two goals:
- Keeps project documentation easily accessible
- Maintains clear boundaries between meeting notes and administrative records
