A few weeks ago a senior manager asked for a to-do app recommendation (for personal use). Regular readers will know I prefer the free version of Todoist but I didn’t want to share a recommendation without comparing it thoroughly with other options.
Enter Google Bard.
Instead of Googling “popular todo apps” and then manually making a note of their features, I used Google Bard to create a comprehensive table that highlights the pros and cons of each app, including Todoist, side by side.
After exporting the table from Bard directly into Google Sheets, I spent ~2 minutes on formatting before sharing my findings with the senior manager (with my top 2 recommendations highlighted).
First, I asked for a list of Todoist’s closest competitors:

Create a table comparing Todoist with TickTick, Any.do, Microsoft To-Do, Remember the Milk, and Google KeepYou technically can prompt Bard with something like “Create a table comparing Todoist with its closest competitors” but I wanted slightly more manual control (e.g. I didn’t want to include Evernote or Trello in the table for example).
