Google Slides: A Visually Engaging way to Present!

(you can filter previous issues by application!)

A win for visual presenters

As humans, we are visual creatures; our brains process images 60,000 times faster than text.

Instead of merely talking through each slide, imagine being able to circle key points, underline significant stats, or even doodle brief illustrations—all in real-time! It's like having a digital whiteboard at your fingertips.

📸 Instructions

  1. Enter “Slideshow” mode
  2. Mouse over to the bottom-left and select “Turn on the pen”
💡
Pro tip: <Shift + L> to turn start annotating immediately and <Shift + A> to erase annotations

I use this to direct my audiences’ focus exactly where I want, add a layer of interaction to keep engagement levels high, and simplify complex ideas with on-the-fly visual cues.
