Google Keep: Text Formatting Hits the Web (finally)

(you can easily filter previous issues by application!)

Hey friends,

After two years, Google Keep's web version finally gets text formatting (Android users have had it since 2023 😂). Web users can now bold, italicize, underline, and add headers.

What's new

Look for the underlined "A" button in the bottom left corner. Click it to access:

  • Bold (cmd/ctrl+b), italic (cmd/ctrl+i), and underline (cmd/ctrl + u) options
  • H1 and H2 headers
  • Remove formatting tool

Small details add up

Yes I agree this is just a small quality of life update but for those of us who follow my Note Capture workflow from The Workspace Academy, I strongly recommend getting in the habit of using either (1) Headers or (2) Bolded text to separate key takeaways and rough notes.

Pro tip

My ex-colleague at Google came up with his own system after this new update:

  • Bolded text = key takeaways from meetings.
  • Italic text (below takeaways) = context.

ALSO, your formatting now syncs between web and mobile. No more losing structure when you switch devices. Keep stays simple but becomes actually useful for work.

When you’re ready, here are all the ways I can help.
