Google Drive: Simplify Your Digital Life with New Scan Feature

(you can easily filter previous issues by application!)

Hey friends - I didn’t want you to find out this way but I have to come clean: I used to rely on iCloud instead of Google Drive.

🤯

Blasphemous, I know.

In my defense, scanning documents onto iCloud was so simple compared to the experience for Google Drive.

But not anymore!

Google Drive on Android

After opening up the Google Drive app, you can now click this “Camera” icon to start scanning documents immediately.

The truly “revolutionary” change is actually what comes next: we get to choose whether we want to save the scanned file as a PDF or an image!

Google Drive on iPhone

The process differs slightly on the iPhone:

  • After opening Google Drive, we need to click on the “Plus” icon as opposed to the “Scan” icon
  • We can now choose to scan a document (as a PDF) or simply take and upload an image directly

Note: If you click the “Scan” icon in the iOS app, you will not have the option to convert the scan to an image.
