Gemini: Schedule Events Without Leaving Gmail
(you can easily filter previous issues by application!)
Hey friends, Gemini recently received a (potentially) exciting update:
I say "potentially" on purpose because like most things with AI right now, there’re still a LOT of limitations BUT I can see the final iteration down the road as being absolutely life-changing!
Create Events from within Gemini
This feature is available exclusively to Gemini Advanced users (sorry free users 😅). You'll also need to enable the Google Workspace extension before use.
You can create events from two locations:
- The Gemini sidebar in Gmail
- The web app directly
Pro tips
- Save these templates in your text expander to avoid repetitive typing. Here's my go-to format:
Create a [30 minutes/1 hour] event for [lunch] [tomorrow] at [noon].
- You can create recurring events by adding keywords like “weekly, monthly, annually,” etc.
Limitations
- This works in Gmail and the Gemini web app (https://gemini.google.com/app) but not in Google Drive.
- You can't modify events beyond creation - no document attachments or description field edits are possible.
