# Google Calendar: Cancel useless meetings!

## 🕵🏻 Audit your recurring meetings

- 71% of professionals waste time every week due to unnecessary or cancelled meetings
- The biggest culprit is **recurring meetings** because you forget to question whether these meetings are necessary even after a period of time

## 📸 What do I do?

1. Make a copy of this [Recurring Meeting Audit spreadsheet](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1fH7vtTCy7bqiT00O5v0tBBjHRx8h1cvaKDel%5Fwn1nSA/copy?ref=jeffsu.org)
2. In the “Clean” tab, input Columns B through E (i.e. understand your Current State) based on your current weekly schedule
3. Determine new frequency and/or duration for each recurring meeting and input decision within Column G
4. Check in with meeting organizers and participants and suggest the new meeting frequency and/or duration!

💡

****Pro tip:** If you feel uncomfortable telling colleagues you’d like to cut down on the number of meetings and/or duration, tell them this is a “best practice” you heard about and wanted to try out.This takes the pressure off you and I can be that a\*\*hole!
