# ⛔️ Block Spam when Unsubscribe Doesn’t work

## 🤔 What is it?

- Block spam marketing emails you can’t unsubscribe from by creating a filter

## 🤷🏻 When should I use this?

Sometimes, you continue to receive marketing spam from irresponsible companies even when you Unsubscribed or even “Blocked” them in Gmail

Irresponsible companies find creative ways to send you spam

As you can see, they often send the spam through new email aliases so simply blocking them won’t work (why do businesses do this? 😵)

## 📸 Instructions

1. Identify a common **keyword** or **email domain** from the spam business
2. Under Gmail Search bar, I input “\*@email.blacklapel.com” (note that the asterisk is needed before the @ symbol)
3. Create a filter and **EITHER** select “Skip the Inbox (Archive it)” and “Mark as read” **OR** you can select “Delete it”
