# Gemini: Schedule Events Without Leaving Gmail

Hey friends, Gemini recently received a (potentially) exciting update:

I say "potentially" on purpose because like most things with AI right now, there’re still a LOT of limitations **BUT** I can see the final iteration down the road as being absolutely life-changing!

## Create Events from within Gemini

This feature is available exclusively to Gemini Advanced users (sorry free users 😅). You'll also need to enable the Google Workspace extension before use.

**You can create events from two locations:**

- The Gemini sidebar in Gmail
- The web app directly

## Pro tips

1. Save these templates in your text expander to avoid repetitive typing. Here's my go-to format:

> Create a \[30 minutes/1 hour\] event for \[lunch\] \[tomorrow\] at \[noon\].

1. You can create **recurring events** by adding keywords like “weekly, monthly, annually,” etc.

## Limitations

1. This works in Gmail and the Gemini web app ([https://gemini.google.com/app](https://gemini.google.com/app?ref=jeffsu.org)) but not in Google Drive.
2. You can't modify events beyond creation - no document attachments or description field edits are possible.
